The final section of the main steel girder of the Yangzi River Ganjiang Railway and Road Bridge on the west branch of the Changji High-speed Railway has been hoisted into place.

Recently, with the precise hoisting of the 764-ton closing section steel box truss gir, the last section of the main steel girder of the bridge was successfully hoisted into place. This marks the completion of the hoisting of the main steel girder the west branch of the bridge, which is expected to be closed in the middle of this month.


The Yangzi River Ganjiang Railway and Road Bridge of the Changjiu-speed Railway is located in the territory of Nanchang City, with a total length of 19 kilometers. It crosses three tributaries of the Ganjiang River, the west branch, the middle branch and the south branch, from north to south. It is a large-span road-railway bridge integrating three traffic modes: high-speed, urban expressway and urban trunk road.


    After the construction of the main bridge of the west branch of the bridge, six world records will be created, including the worlds first road-railway bridge with the most number of 12 lanes and the largest traffic capacity, the world's first 320-meter main span with speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a non-ballast track cable-stayed bridge, the world's first 350-kilometer-perhour harp-shaped cable-stayed bridge, the world's first steel truss cable-stayed bridge with a large cantilever section, the world's diameter cable-stayed bridge, and the world's first cable-stayed bridge with elastic constraint bearings (source of article: Shanghai Steel Structure)
